  14. Aperture 5.0, is a multi-relational database system that has been designed
  15. with the Stock, Assignment and Freelance photographer in mind. It was written
  16. by stock and assignments photographers. You will find many of the everyday
  17. forms and reports needed to run a successful business. With many advanced
  18. features it is a valued tool for all photographers, professionals and hobbist
  19. alike. Aperture has the ability to catalog your slides and photographs, track
  20. submissions, keep you in contact with your clients and much more!

  22. The first edition was released in January 1990 as Images by Blue Moose
  23. Software and Bob Orsillo, many changes have taken place since that time,
  24. including Horizon Software providing marketing and product development
  25. and changing the name to Aperture (to better reflect it's features). Our
  26. goal is to provide photographers with tools that make work a little easier
  27. and give them an edge over the competition.

  29. The following information will give you a good idea of just some of things
  30. Aperture can do. But the best way to see for yourself is to order the trial
  31. version and give it a good work out. Or you can download a trial version
  32. from the CompuServe Photograpy Forum (GO PHOTOFORUM), the file name is
  33. APRTR5.ZIP, in section 16 (Photo Software). You won't be sorry!

  47. Apeture 5.0 has five relational databases working together to keep track of
  48. your Slides, Color Photography, B&W Photography, Photo Buyers, Expenses,
  49. Photography Equipment, giving you the information you need when you need it.
  50. Tracking photo submissions is quick and easy with special tables and tagging.
  51. (For example, one touch of a  key and youÆll know who has those slides and
  52. for how long they had them.)

  54. A "History" is kept on each image you enter. An image's history includes
  55. submission, when out and in, to whom, sales, rights sold, and when the image
  56. is available for resale.

  58. When browsing through your records all this information is available at the
  59. touch of a key. Aperture also creates an aging report you can print or
  60. display on the screen. The aging report tells you who has what images and how
  61. long they have had them, and more.

  63. INTEGRATED CONTACT MANAGER:

  65. *       Keep up-to-date client information and their
  66.         photography needs. (Plenty of room for notes.)
  67. *       A user defined "Tickler" function lets you know
  68.         when it's time to get in touch.
  69. *       A built in telephone dialer lets you dial any one of
  70.         your Clients telephone numbers at the touch of a key.
  71. *       The information stored in the Contact Manger
  72.         works with the Report Writer to create a number of
  73.         reports, delivery memos, shipping labels etc.
  74. *       Data entered into the Contact Manager is combined
  75.         with photography data to create many reports
  76.         and forms such as Submission Reports, Delivery
  77.         Memos, Query letters and many more.

  79. EXPENSE TRACKING:

  81. Aperture 5.0 provides expense tracking and calculations; simply enter the
  82. figures and Aperture does the rest, including printing out expense sheets.

  84. GRAPHIC IMAGE SUPPORT

  86. *       Each slide or photograph record can have a graphic
  87.         image attached. This image can be viewed anytime
  88.         by selecting the record and pressing a key.
  89. *       Graphic images can be photographs, documents, or
  90.         drawings. (Anything in PCX, GIF, MAC, BAS, PIC
  91.         format can be displayed.)
  92. *       Aperture includes a graphic image converter and
  93.         viewer.The converter will allow formats such to be
  94.         changed such as GIF to be saved in PCX format.

  96. INTEGRATED LABELING PROGRAM.

  98. *       Compatible with any label on the market today or
  99.         in the future.
  100. *       Slide labels can have up to four lines of text,
  101.         depending on your printer. A WYSIWYG form
  102.         gives you control over size, shape, spacing, number
  103.         of lines to print and more.
  104. *       Labels can be printed up to nine across.
  105. *       You can add your own printer codes to each
  106.         individual label design, to take full advantage of
  107.         your printers ability.
  108. *       You can create as many different label formats as
  109.         you want, and save them for future use.
  110. *       A WYSIWYG form will let you define what fields
  111.         you want to print on any of the label formats.
  112.         Simply display this form and check off the fields
  113.         you want printed.

  117. Printer support for most Dot Matrix and Laser printers has been built into
  118. Aperture. But you also have the option of adding your own printer codes to
  119. take full advantage of any printer.

  121. REPORTS

  123. Aperture is loaded with reports and useful forms. And all reports, forms,
  124. contracts, etc. may be displayed on screen, sent directly to any printer
  125. connected to your computer, print any number of copies, or save the report
  126. as a text file. All reports may be edited. A number of other word processing
  127. functions can  also  be performed.
